Our Charity Work

At MMT, we ask our staff to choose a charity to raise money for every quarter of the year.

Quarter One – January to March 2017

The first quarter of 2017, MMT raised funds to help Ronald McDonald House in Manchester.

The Ronald McDonald House specialise in accommodating families whose children are receiving treatment from Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital & St Mary’s Neonatal Unit.

The men of MMT agreed to a charity leg waxing event which raised £123.95 alone!

MMT have raised over £1000.00 towards the charity by holding dress down days and charity events throughout January, February & March!

Quarter Two – April to June 2017

The charity chosen for the second quarter is Child Poverty Action Group.

CPAG understand what causes poverty, the impact it has on children’s lives and how it can be solved – for good. They also provide information, training and advice to people who work with families in difficulties to ensure they get the correct financial help they need.

MMT are going to raise as much as possible to help this very worthy organisation by holding charity events over the next 3 months!

They provide supported housing solutions for vulnerable adults with mental health problems and/or learning disabilities so they may live successfully and safe in the community. Quarter Four – October to December 2016

Each year MMT take part in Warrington’s Christmas Toy Appeal for children who will be waking up Christmas Day without a present to open. MMT raise money from October to December and go shopping at local toy stores to buy as many presents as possible for children of all ages.

In 2015 MMT raised £780.00 for Warrington’s Toy Appeal! We are hoping to raise even more in 2016, as for many children at Christmas the presents we buy may be the only gift they receive, we want to make sure we can help as many local families as possible.

So far this year, MMT have raised over £500 for Warrington’s Christmas Toy Appeal! We held a Halloween charity day in the office on the 28th of October where members of MMT dressed up, we sold cakes and had a raffle raising £148.13 alone!

We also brought in items of food to donate to the local Food Bank helping families in need.

To continue raising funds we have a Christmas Jumper day coming up on the 16th December 2016!

MMT Charity Fund-Raising

At MMT we believe very strongly in giving back to the community we work in and have run several projects this year to raise funds for a number of charities, including Warrington Food Bank and Operation Christmas Child.

Warrington Food Bank

While many of us are fortunate enough to enjoy a good standard of living it’s a sobering thought that there are local families living in crisis who, for whatever reason, can’t afford to put enough food on their tables.

For several years our staff have been bringing in donations of food and other non-perishable items and once we have enough for a delivery we take the goods direct to the Food Bank whose staff can then distribute three days emergency food supplies to families in crisis.

The families pick up their supplies at any one of a number of local distribution centres using vouchers issued by a number of referral agencies, meeting volunteer staff over a warm drink or a free hot meal. The work goes on throughout the year, but is especially important at Christmas time when the need is keenest felt.

Operation Christmas Child

Operation Christmas Child is a shoe box appeal organised by The Samaritans and aimed at giving Christmas presents to those in need who would otherwise have no gift to open on Christmas Day.

Last year we created shoe boxes for homeless people in Manchester, providing warm clothing and gifts to get them through the Christmas period.

It’s amazing what a massive impact one small show box can have on a child’s life so this year we created 33 special Christmas gift boxes which will be distributed in time for the big day.

Going forward

Year on year we are determined to remember those who are in need at Christmas and make sure at least some of them have a little something special to remember.
